Screen Green

There is a growing need for us all to address environmental issues. For years, Da-Lite has sought sound environmental solutions that address our operations, customers and communities where we work and play.

For our operations, we implemented several initiatives that include reducing our natural gas consumption by 27%, water consumption by 42%, and installing low emission powder coating systems and censored lighting in our manufacturing facility to reduce our consumption of electricity.

For our customers, we launched the Da-Lite Screen Green® Exchange Program for recycling old screens replaced with new Da-Lite installations.

For our communities, we have achieved GREENGUARD® certification for the largest number of surfaces in the industry, including the GREENGUARD® Children and Schools Certification program.

As the industry leader for over 100 years, we believe in making a difference.

  • ISO 14001:2004 CERTIFICATION
  • In June of 2011, Da-Lite achieved re-certification of its International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001:2004 Environmental Management System (EMS) for its worldwide headquarters facility located in Warsaw, Indiana. Additionally, the certification has been expanded to include Da-Lite’s manufacturing facilities in Wichita, Kansas and Cincinnati, Ohio.

An ISO 14001:2004-based EMS is a management tool enabling Da-Lite to:

    • Identify and control the environmental impact of its activities, products or services
    • Improve its environmental performance continually
    • Implement a systematic approach to setting environmental objectives and targets, to achieving these and to demonstrating that they have been achieved.

As a part of its essentials, ISO 14001:2004 is a tool that can be used to meet Da-Lite’s internal objectives that provide assurance to management it is in control of the processes and activities that have an impact on the environment and to assure employees that they work for an environmentally responsible company.

As Da-Lite continues to develop an eco-friendly future, through GREENGUARD® Certification and the United Stated Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED® accreditation program, the ISO 14001 certification remains an umbrella over all of its effort

    About ISO

  • With the certification of all front and rear projection screen surfaces, Da-Lite takes the lead in low emitting products and materials under the standards of the GREENGUARD® Environmental Institute. GREENGUARD® has issued this certification under their certification number 90068.

In addition to the GREENGUARD® Indoor Air Quality Certification, the Institute has also certified these surfaces for their GREENGUARD® Children and Schools program under certification numbers 90068-01 through 90068-26. The GREENGUARD® Certification Program uses performance based, field validated standards to define products and materials with low chemical and particle emissions for use indoors. GREENGUARD® requires products to be tested on an annual basis for over 2,000 individual volatile organic compounds (VOCs). When you specify Da-Lite front or rear projection screens you will not only be using environmentally friendly screen surfaces, you will be using GREENGUARD® Certified Da-Lite surfaces that are recommended by leading sustainable building programs, including; U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Rating System,NAHB Green Building Guidelines, Canada Green Building Council,United Kingdom Green Building Council, Green Guide for Health Care and the Collaborative for High Performance Schools Best Practices Manual.
